Incorporating Forest Floor Coverage into Play Yards Diversifies Children's Skin Microbiota, Improving Their Immune Function

This study compared the environmental microbiome of nature-centered play yards and standard play yards and the immune system properties of the preschool children who used them. Findings showed a decline in the microbial diversity of the children spending time in standard play yards, and enhancement of those with access to nature-centered play yards.
